Methodology

To tackle this problem we used a hybrid approach. We combined a product management perspective and systems analysis perspective

Product Management Perspective

  1. Strategic Planning - strategy, vision, roadmapping, goal setting and OKRs
  2. Product - user insights, data insights, technical overview of product

Systems Analysis Perspective

  1. Iceberg model
  2. North Star
  3. Scenario Planning

The overall methodology went something like: → Understand company and customers → Understand market trends → Identify key stakeholder → Define our north star → Ideate solutions and divide into stories → Rank solutions by priority → Feed prioritisation into MVP scoping and roadmap → Develop Go-to-market strategy → Consider risks and mitigations

Understanding Activision-Blizzard

With titles like World of warcraft, Diablo and GTA online, Call of Duty, Candy Crush etc Activision-Blizzard and its subsidiaries has built a strong brand and product portfolio. With the surge of AI innovation sweeping across industries, it is pertinent for large incumbents like Activision-Blizzard to adopt this technology and keep its market share.

The company has to take care of many aspects of its games: online worlds, player interactions, customizations, etc. All of these feed into higher order requirements of player retention, content creation, balancing of outcomes, and security strengthening.
